With social development leading to increasing population density in large cities and the frequent occurrence of public safety incidents, the importance of crowd control and security measures in public places is self-evident.  Intelligent turnstiles, with their speed, safety, and convenience, have become the ideal management equipment for high-traffic pedestrian access points. Today, intelligent turnstiles are commonly found in government buildings, office buildings, subway stations, train stations, airports, and scenic spots, presenting vast market opportunities for businesses. This article will share several crucial issues that should not be overlooked during the installation of swing turnstiles.

First, determine the swing turnstile installation plan. When communicating with the client, the plan should be confirmed, including the width and length of the site, the number of machines to be installed, and whether to choose vertical or bridge-type swing turnstiles. Determine the external dimensions of the turnstile and the dimensions from the turnstile arm to the machine casing, including the footprint of the equipment. When selecting the model, fully consider the gap between the turnstile and the arm, the footprint of each turnstile, the placement location, and how the wiring will be done (surface wiring or concealed wiring). Once the plan and objectives are set, simply wait for the turnstiles to arrive on site.

Secondly, determine the location and wiring. Based on the previously determined plan, clarify the specific installation dimensions of the swing turnstiles, prepare the buried conduits, and leave a gap of 50-100mm between turnstiles to allow for opening the top cover for machine adjustments and maintenance.  It is crucial not to leave no gap.  Two 6-8mm plastic conduits should be buried between each turnstile: one for the power cable (high voltage) and the other for the signal cable (low voltage).  The power and signal cables should not be run through the same conduit, as this will affect communication. The buried conduits should protrude 30-40mm above the ground. For vertical swing turnstiles, the wiring should be at the bottom center of the machine; for bridge-type swing turnstiles, it should be on the sides (because the bottom center of the bridge-type turnstile is enclosed).

Finally, fixing and adjustment. The base should be fixed using four M10x100 expansion bolts to prevent wobbling. The entire unit must be level, and the overall appearance should be consistent (it's best to use a thin string to ensure alignment in both longitudinal and transverse directions before fixing). The swing gates are connected in series, and each one should be adjusted individually until they function correctly.
