The Internet of Things (IoT) market size may reach 280 billion this year.

On the afternoon of the 16th, the "First Guangdong Provincial Internet of Things Application Forum and China Unicom Internet of Things Guangdong Industry Summit," jointly hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Internet of Things Industry Alliance and Guangdong Province, was held at the Pazhou International Procurement Center in Guangzhou. Guangdong Unicom was re-elected as the rotating chairman unit of the Internet of Things Industry Alliance.

Shen Zhixiong, Chief Engineer of the Guangdong Provincial Economic and Information Commission, introduced that the market size of the province's Internet of Things industry reached 240 billion yuan in 2014, with a growth rate of 26%, and is expected to reach 280 billion yuan this year. Currently, there are 3,100 Internet of Things-related enterprises in the province, including 14 with a market size exceeding 100 million yuan, 5 exceeding 1 billion yuan, and 3 exceeding 5 billion yuan. There are also 5 bases and clusters with a market size exceeding 10 billion yuan.
